Dentures can be full – used when all natural teeth are missing, or partial – used when only some teeth are missing. They are removable appliances made from acrylic, or a combination of acrylic on a cobalt-chrome base. Dentures can be used in conjunction with dental implants where they are secured in the mouth by clicking into the implant(s). This is useful when retention is a problem with a denture. Patients with full dentures should still attend for regular check-ups of their whole mouth.
